McKinley Elementary is excited to announce the launch of the Road to Success annual my529 Read-a-Thon contest, running from April 15th to May 15th! One lucky, top-reading student from Box Elder school district will win a $1,000 dollar scholarship account, thanks to the generous sponsorship of my529! This Read-a-Thon will be conducted through the Beanstack platform- so, nothing more will need to be done than continuing to regularly log minutes for each student in Beanstack.
At the end of the Read-a-Thon, the top reader from each school with the most minutes read during those four weeks will be put into a pool with other students in their district. One lucky student will be randomly selected in a drawing! Please note, schools will need to share the parent’s contact information of the winning student to set up the scholarship account.
April 15th - May 15th my529 Read-a-Thon takes place!
May 16th - 19th Top reader from each school put into drawing & district winners will be selected!
May 19th - 25th Outreach to parents of winning students by my529.
May 25th Deadline for parents to connect with my529. *It is crucial that parents connect with my529 or scholarship will be forfeited!
May 29th Winner's account will be opened in my529 and scholarship dollars deposited!
