On Wednesday, April 24, from 11:30 am to noon, the 43-foot tall Golden Spike Monument, inspired by those ceremonially used to complete the transcontinental railroad in 1869 will begin its spring journey in the Driving of the Spike: Jupiter Tour. The University of Utah will be the kickoff location of the tour. The spike will travel from Utah to California and back and then make a series of "whistle stops" in Utah.
While on tour, the Spike will be visiting Box Elder School District 4th grade students at their schools. The dates listed below are public events that are free for anyone interested.
April 30th--Tremonton Utah, Honk and Wave on Main Street at 6 PM until 6:30 PM
April 30th--Logan Utah, Utah State University, 11AM until 3 PM
May 3rd--Ogden, Utah, Ogden Union Station, 10 AM until 8 PM
